Child safety standards
Last updated: 13 September 2026
Sipmate is an adults-only service with zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page is our published standard, as required by Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
1. Sipmate is for adults only
You must be at least 18 to use Sipmate, and older where local law says so — 21 in the United States, 20 in Japan and South Korea. Every new account passes an age gate at sign-up: a date of birth is required, checked against the minimum age for the country selected, and anyone below it is stopped and told why. The app is rated for adults on both stores and we support the platforms' own age-assurance measures, including Google Play's Restrict Declared Minors setting.
Sipmate has no features aimed at children, no content directed at children, and no way for a child to be a legitimate user. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under age, we delete it.
2. What is prohibited
The following are banned outright, and result in the immediate and permanent removal of the account:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, animated or AI-generated depictions.
- Sexualising a minor in text, photos, tags, a status, a display name or a message.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes, or attempting to.
- Sextortion, or soliciting sexual imagery from anyone under 18.
- Trafficking of, or advertising access to, a minor.
- Using Sipmate to arrange to meet a minor, or to supply alcohol to a minor.
- Off-platform links to any of the above.
These rules apply regardless of intent, framing, humour, or claims that the content is fictional. They are part of our terms of use and community guidelines.
3. How to report CSAE — in the app
Every profile and every chat has a report control, reachable in two taps from anywhere a person appears:
- From a chat: open the conversation → menu (⋯) in the header → Report.
- From a profile: open the profile → menu (⋯) → Report.
- Choose a reason — underage is one of the listed reasons, alongside fake profile, harassment, unsafe behaviour and other — and add details. Reports are private; the person reported is never told who reported them.
- Block sits beside Report and takes effect immediately in both directions.
Reporting to us directly
You do not need an account to report a child safety concern. Email support@fieldfare.cc with anything you can share — a display name, a screenshot, when it happened. Please put "child safety" in the subject line so it is triaged first.
4. How we handle a child safety report
- Priority triage. Reports flagged as underage or CSAE go to the front of the queue and are reviewed by a human, ahead of every other report type.
- Immediate protective action. The account is suspended and its content hidden while the report is reviewed. A profile that receives three reports in 24 hours is hidden automatically without waiting for review.
- Enforcement. Confirmed CSAE means permanent removal of the account and its content, and a ban on returning. There is no warning tier for this category.
- Preservation and referral. We preserve the relevant evidence and report apparent CSAE to the competent authorities — in Estonia the Police and Border Guard Board (112, or politsei.ee) and the national Vihjeliin hotline, and to the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where its reporting channel applies to us — and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
- Feedback. Where we can, we tell the person who reported that the report was received and acted on, without disclosing anything about the other person.
5. Compliance with the law
We comply with child safety laws that apply to us, including Estonian and EU law and the child safety requirements of the app stores we distribute through. We keep these standards under review as the law changes, including the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act.
6. Child safety point of contact
The named point of contact for child safety matters, including requests from Google, Apple, law enforcement and child protection organisations, is:
- Fieldfare OÜ, child safety contact
- Email: childsafety@fieldfare.cc (a dedicated mailbox, separate from general support)
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (112 in the EU). Then tell us, so we can remove the account and preserve what we hold.
